Slow down. Stop to notice the light, the shadows, the sky, the flowers. I realized that my (not quite) daily tiny tapestry weaving practice helps me to slow down and focus on what’s right in front of me at the loom. It’s like a reset for my brain. Looking for details that catch your eye while you’re out on a walk is too.

Each tiny tapestry is a short meditation on woven pattern, material texture and color.

This piece was woven on my simple frame loom using cotton, linen, and metallic yarns.

Each of my woven artworks is one of a kind, I can’t make the same thing twice! 

Pieces are signed and dated on the backside of the paper mounting.

I started this series of tiny works to help me out of a creative rut. My goal was to weave one a day to get the creative energy flowing again, and now it’s built into part of my weaving practice. Not every tiny tapestry gets photographed and framed.
